Welcome to the Shire of Chapman Valley Community Skills Survey
A Shire of Chapman Valley Skill and Training Initiative for the Community
The survey aims to increase the skills and opportunities of local community members and the number of community
members involved in community life.
The benefits of the survey for the community include: recognition of residents skills, assisting community members to
share skills and knowledge, assisting residents access employment and learning opportunities, informing training and job
programs initiated in the area, development of greater opportunities for community involvement and interaction, as well as
identification of skills and resources available for volunteering community participation.
The Shire of Chapman Valley's 'Love the Rural Life' Community Skill Development project is supported through funding from
the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) Stronger Families and Communities Strategy.
Why are we conducting this survey?
Through the Shire of Chapman Valley Community Skills Survey information is being collected from locals to assist
in creating new opportunities for our rural residents. This survey aims to provide early intervention to strengthen
the community to become self-reliant to combat economic, social, and environmental decline.
The survey has five key objectives:
Help us to assist residents identify and gain recognition and qualifications for current skills.
Access and develop local employment and learning opportunities to increase skill diversification and transfer options.
Increase local economic and social activity
Increase the development of local employment and learning infrastructure; and
Link residents to employment and lifelong learning opportunities
How to get involved?
We invite you to participate by completing the survey providing as much detail as possible. When your circumstance change
please advise us by contacting the Shire's Community Development Officer on 08 9920 5011.
Your chance to WIN
The Shire of Chapman Valley, with sponsorship from Reliance, Mitchell and Brown, Woolworths Geraldton and the House of Homewares,
will be entering all survey participants into a draw to win either a $500 Reliance fuel voucher, $250 worth of Scanpan [cookware],
or a $50 voucher from Woolworths and a $50 voucher from the House of Homewares.
Prize draw extension
The Shire of Chapman Valley would like to advise local residents that it has extended the
Community Skills Survey Draw due to the holiday period. The draw will now take place on Monday 2 March.
